The
University of Saint Mary Starr Institute is a professional academic
organization dedicated to the idea of promoting international
awareness – in the classroom, on the campus, and in the larger
community in which Saint Mary exists. In keeping with the ecumenical
spirit of our founders, the Sisters of Charity of Leavenworth,
the Institute is equally motivated by another idea, that of
championing the causes of peace and justice wherever Saint Mary
has any influence and can make its voice be heard.
We are committed to the promotion of attitudes, policies and
practices that foster freedom, generosity and the equitable enrichment of life
